A simple, legal way to get married — clear, structured, and professionally delivered.

If you’re looking for a straightforward, legally recognised way to get married, a Registry Wedding may be exactly what you need.

This option is designed to be simple, structured, and easy to organise — while still being delivered with care and professionalism.

VCANZ CREDENTIAL

As a validated member of Celebrants Aotearoa (VCANZ), I am authorised to conduct Registry Weddings on behalf of the Department of Internal Affairs.

This ensures your ceremony meets all legal requirements and is delivered to a consistent professional standard.

What is a Registry Wedding?

A Registry Wedding is a simple, civil, legal ceremony that follows a set format and standard wording.

It is designed to provide a straightforward way to get married, without the additional elements of a personalised ceremony.

My role is to make this feel simple, clear, and well handled.

  • Conduct the ceremony in line with legal requirements

  • Ensure all documentation is completed correctly

  • Provide a calm, professional presence

  • Keep everything running smoothly and on time

What I Do

How It Works

The process is straightforward:

  • Apply for your marriage licence - This must be done at least 3 working days before your ceremony

  • Get in touch - Check availability and confirm this is the right option for you

  • Confirm details - We agree on time and location

  • The ceremony - We meet, complete the ceremony, and make it official

All About Registry Weddings

The Experience

  • They are held Monday to Friday 9 am - 5pm (excl public holidays)

  • It is a short templated ceremony (around 15 minutes)

  • It is conducted using a set script and standard vows (no custom vows, readings or additions)

  • Must have 2 witnesses (preferably arranged by the couple)

  • Are limited to a maximum of 10 people (including witnesses)

  • Must be held within 10km of my home base

  • Can be held in my home or garden

  • There is no pre-meeting beforehand

  • There is a fee set by the Government and payable to me before or on the day of the service

The Experience

While Registry Weddings are simple by design, I still ensure the experience feels calm, respectful, and well held.

You’ll know exactly what to expect, everything will run smoothly, and the moment itself will feel clear and considered.
